Have you ever owned a pickup truck before? Not only do you have the fun of four-wheel drive, but you also have the fun of someone always needing help hauling something. Helping people just because it’s the right thing to do is in my DNA. This mindset coaching article is based on that exact perspective.
My parents always had a pickup truck. They always were helping people just because they could. That definitely got passed onto me. Kindness isn’t something that comes with convenience. It’s the right thing to do. Because the right thing to do is always the right thing to do. That kind of energy comes back to you tenfold. Not because you expect something in return, but because you don’t expect anything.
One act of kindness leads to another act of kindness. It’s the choices that you make to help those around you. Because I’m the time I’d need when you need something, people will rally to help. If they don’t, my intuition tells me you’ll find a way to prevail anyway. Every strong person needs help sometimes. It’s completely acceptable to ask for help too.
Swallow your pride and ask someone for help. Helping people just because want to will provide you with unintended leverage. Using that leverage also becomes unintentional. Because the mindset and report you build with those people you help won’t be tainted with you asking for help.
They will gladly help because they know you have their back too. The phrase “It Takes A Village” comes to mind. Small town and/or big cities all alike. Being kind and helping people go hand in hand. Owning a pickup is one of those things that come with a caveat. I welcome that caveat. Some days it may feel like a burden and I persevere because to me, kindness is the ultimate leverage towards the good karma coming back to me.
I don’t expect anyone to help me and when they do it blows me away. Our world can be full of assholes or it can be filled with angels. It’s up to us to choose wisely on who we hang around. Surround yourself with people who expand you, not make you contract and feel tense.
Thank you so much for even being willing to read this mindset coaching article. Please share it with someone who needs some perspective on being an asshole. If they own a pickup truck and always say no to helping anyone, then definitely sure this with them. Meanwhile, get your WOD done and do one act of kindness today because you never know when your time will come that you’ll need help.
