The world of instant gratification and influencer marketing is changing rapidly. Those two things didn’t even exist before the Internet was around. Maybe it did but it didn’t manifest itself to the public eye. This mindset coaching article will show you how to go the opposite way and be happy with having nothing.
Our children had wild imaginations because we don’t put them in front of screens often. We make them “get bored” first. For example, my wife and I got them a basketball/hockey/soccer set and didn’t set it up for them until they got bored with everything else they already had. We are teaching them to be happy with having nothing.
Consider yourself for a moment. How do you teach yourself to be happy with having nothing? Stop complaining and focusing on stuff that doesn’t matter. If it’s not your business then stay out of it. Only focus on things you can control. For example, you can’t control someone else’s happiness. You can only control yours. However, you can make yourself happy and the other person may follow. Maybe not and that’s the way it’s going to be.
In America, we have no real problems for the lost part. We are choosing the life we are living. Clean water and a roof over your head are what people in other parts of the world are praying for. A steady job and education for your children is something in another part of the world that is only a pipe dream.
Be happy with having nothing because when someTHING, someONE or you GET to go someWHERE comes along, it’s a completely unexpected win. Because anything past your heart beating and the ability to breathe is a win. No matter how small the win, it’s still a win. The value of happiness is discretionary. One thing most can agree on is that happiness comes from within. It’s rarely an outer world experience.
Understanding this concept and taking in as truth can be fun because it allows you to let go of all expectations. Having nothing is a blessing because then any experience after that mind-blowing acceptance is pure bliss. Expecting nothing is even better. Ever have an experience you weren’t expecting? It’s phenomenal.
Start by letting go of all expectations for your day and live with intention. What are your intentions for this day? That’s a rhetorical question of course but ask yourself that question every day before you get out of bed. I write down every day.

Then at the end of the day reflect back on it and see if you can pinpoint when you fell “asleep” and went back into your old ways of living.
Be happy with having nothing and then gratitude will amplify when you do realize you have it all. Your WOD awaits you and it’s time to take your life back into your own hands. Because you are amzing and I belive in you.

Warm Up- 5 Minutes Cardio
- Single or Double Leg Mule Kick – 20-30 Reps
- Clamshell – 20-30 Reps Total
- Elevated Bird Dog – 20-30 Reps Total
- High Knees – 60-70Reps Total
Cool Down – 5 Deep Breaths In Each Pose – Down Dog, Child's Pose, Up Dog Pose, Down Dog Pose
