Have you ever started something with the intention that the people you care most about will eventually follow you? Or better yet, join in with you one hundred percent? Like showing them tools on what can help make them happier. You only control YOUR happiness.
Let me tell you that you’re going to wait a lifetime if you think that other person or persons will ever be there. This mindset coaching article will open up a part of your mind that hasn’t ever been opened before. Happiness is something people try to change for others all too often. It’s an emotion that is discretionary.
Sometimes the emotion gets twisted or misunderstood. We all define happiness in our own ways. Trying to change someone else’s perspective on something you’re passionate about is a mistake I’ve made way too many times. It’s only until I stopped trying to change their perspective is when they started to work on themselves. However, you only control YOUR happiness. It’s a hard pill to swallow for many people.
Working on yourself first can be difficult as a parent. Therefore it takes practice and constant self-awareness to follow through on what makes you happy. Not having the support can be tough and loving the fact that the journey is tough makes it even better. The other person who is not supporting you doesn’t matter. Don’t get me wrong, they matter, but if they truly are your life partner then they will be with you through thick AND thin.
Control can be hard to get go of sometimes. However, after you do actually let go of taking responsibility for their happiness, life gets real fun, real fast. Opportunities start showing up in a way you least expect them too. Because you’ve relinquished the responsibility of their happiness you now get to focus on you.
You only control YOUR happiness and start operating from a place of pure intention of love for yourself. Seems a little unfamiliar at first and like everything a person tries for the first time, it is.
Begin with a journal. Start writing every day. Write down the things that make you happy. Not just things, but people and places too. Along with other memories that made you truly happy. Then, start to think about what you think will make you happy in the future.
Next is the intention. Write about what you intend to feel like for the day. Try your hardest to stay in that intention. Feel it the whole day. Maybe at the end of the day write down what parts of your day were within your intention and what parts weren’t.
This creates the awareness needed to avoid doing the things that keep you from your intention. You only control your happiness and this is a way to focus on the things you actually have control over.
Too many of us focus on what we can’t control. That will leave you very frustrated and exhausted. Changing other people only starts when you change yourself. Meanwhile, people around will start to notice those changes and either stick around or leave. That’s all part of the experience.
I love it when people leave. In other words, they aren’t in alignment with me. I only want to hang with people who are one hundred percent in alignment with me. I feel bad for those who hate on me because it simply means they hate themselves.
In conclusion, get this WOD done and be grateful for the ability to do so. You only control YOUR happiness and with that happiness comes love. That’s what it’s all about. Love. End of story. Because loving yourself IS Happiness.
