Just Want To Be Heard

I don’t need my name up in the lights. I just want to be heard. We all do. We want to feel heard. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had a different perspective on things. Because we are in a time of information and experience it’s only now that it’s ok to talk about it.

When I was in sixth grade I showed up for an after school meeting for sports and I called it an extra terrestrial meeting. It was an extra curricular meeting. I was way wrong of the wording but the context wasn’t off. Because I didn’t play any sports before sixth grade I felt like I was on a different planet. Everyone there was an extra terrestrial to me.

Playing video games and eating whatever was in the House was on the top of my list until that day. Wrestling was my first sport I ever felt good at. I played baseball and soft ball, but never thought I was any good at it. I wanted to be heard because my perspective was so different to everyone else’s. Let’s just say that I didn’t start speaking up until I turned 30.

So from the day I was born until age 30 I was quite. After that it was like a giant was woken up and keeps getting bigger each day thereafter.

What does it take to be heard? We all want to feel heard. Whether it’s at work, at home or even in a relationship. In other words our experience in life needs to mean something. Changing our lives for the betterment of this planet and to spread joyous gratitude. But how?

By doing the impossible when all else seems to fail. Smiling at those who have wronged you. Not on a vindictive way, but in a loving and caring way.

By giving your most precious gift away to the world with no expectations of anything in return. For example, I give all 365 WODs away and don’t expect anything in return. Creating them is my gift and with modifications they fit every single person who is ready to complete them. That’s my gift. What’s yours?

I just want to be heard because my messages come from a place that most people are afraid to tap into. Their hearts. That’s the secret. I write, speak, move and think from my heart on a daily basis. That’s why when people see me at 5am or 5pm I bring the same amount of gratitude and energy to the table. I’m high octane because I’m fueled by the work I was created for.

Find what brings you the most joy and do more of it. Gary Vaynerchuk is a constant reminder for me of that. He curses a TON and so do I, so be aware of that. It’s just who he is and it’s just who I am. I wouldn’t have any other way. What brings you joy? Hit me up at [email protected]. I’d love to know. Seriously, I really would. You are heard. You are loved. Say it with me. I am heard, I am loved, I am enough, I am free.
