When talking about strength training have you ever thought about Wisdom Building Upper Body Movements? What I mean by that is how you perceive your “gains” may be the exact thing that’s holding you back FROM those gains.
Too many people stop when the “feel the burn”. The way that I coach all my clients is pretty unorthodox and WAY outside the box. As soon as you can think of movement and exercise without getting an emotional charge, meaning you don’t get depressed that you “can’t” do a certain exercise, you will gain the wisdom so move forward.
Because you’re reading this means you’ve put the effort into changing yourself. That’s pretty damn impressive. Therefore being ready for wisdom is a power state to be in.
When you’re in the state to “burn” fat you’re in the state to harm your body. That’s how the body feels it too. I have used the saying gaining wisdom instead. It sounds corny, and really it is, but all you’re doing is tricking your analytical mind into doing things differently.
Let that sink in a moment…
When you watch today’s video you will see some movements that are familiar and unfamiliar. That’s the best way to change. Your mind will tell you “Wow, that looks WAY to hard, maybe I’ll try it like that next time.”
But really gaining the wisdom to shut that part of your mind off takes practice and WOD #191 gives you that practice.
To sum up this rant I’m on I’ll say this…
The next time you look at something, whether it’s exercise related or not, take a step back and check out where your “emotions” are coming from. Is it your OLD self trying to hold your back or are you excited to try the NEW thing that stares you in the face. My hope for you is to be excited and ready for the NEW you to emerge.

Warm-Up – 5 Minutes Cardio
1-6 Rounds
Tabata (20 Seconds On, 10 Seconds Off)
- Push-Up Planks
- Sit-Ups
- Side Crunches
Cool Down – 5 Deep Breaths In Down Dog Pose
