WOD #177 really hits home when it comes to an escape from life. Music has an ability to affect us down to our soul, if we let it. The song Privilege by Incubus is one that tugs at the heart strings for sure because my intuition tells me that we’ve all felt that some privileges feel like chores after while. When privileges are feeling like a chore it’s time to reevaluate what the motivation is behind the thought process of your actions. Then true change can happen and you’ll find YOUR back door.

Here is a little part of the song Privilege by Incubus:

Isn’t it strange that a gift could be an enemy
Isn’t it weird that a privilege could feel like a chore
Maybe its me, but this line isn’t going anywhere
Maybe if we looked hard enough we could find a back door
Find yourself a back door.

If you ask yourself the right questions, followed by an emotional tie and finish it up with matching action steps, then you WILL find your backdoor. Because this is copy-written information I have to pause and say this is NOT my song or lyrics. I give FULL credit to Incubus.

Finding a backdoor to me means that you are able to CHANGE your life. Therefore being able to CHOOSE your own outcomes becomes possible. WOD #177/365 is a stepping stone for that path to owning your life again, instead of your life owning you.

Conclusion

When privileges are felling like a chore take a moment and think about what is driving the cause. Also you may want to write down what you’re grateful for to realize that those “chores” would be seen as privileges by people less fortunate.

Warm-up – 5 Minutes Cardio

1-6 Rounds

  • Knee To Elbow – 30 reps total
  • Single Leg Deadlift – 30 reps total
  • High Plank Twist – 30 reps total
  • Dips – 10-15 reps

Cool Down – 5 Deep Breaths in Down Dog Pose
