What if the internet breaks
My son and daughter were  both sick and I was home from work. We watched Ralph Breaks The Internet and it provoked a question I didn’t have an immediate answer for. What if the internet breaks?

In the movie Ralph finds a virus and accidentally leaks it into the internet. The movie showed many people without internet from their laptops, tablets and phones. What if the internet breaks like in that movie? What would you do instead of staring at your device?

The internet has changed so many things for the better. For example if we need to know what year the first computer was created or what is the 5th element on the periodic table? Most people don’t look those facts up but none the less you get the point.

What we take for granted is time. There are a few things that I’ve come to learn that I don’t do anymore. Because of the internet and all of its wonder we can get sucked into things we don’t even realize we are doing. Then we make excuses to not do the things that brings us the most joy.

Endlessly scrolling through any social media platform is one of the things I don’t do anymore. However, if I do it’s because I’m studying the kind of content that people are reacting to. The ability to adapt on the go is one of my biggest strengths.

Another time wasting thing I don’t do is judge myself. The internet breaking would be nice every now and again but it would force the addiction that some have to screens to interact again. I’m speaking from experience here. I was obsessed with trying to get people to go on the internet and check out my website.

Looking at the analytics every single day I felt so dumb because nobody was going to it. Paying money each month to try to be at the top of the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) charts. Also, I was trying to convince people to change their lives when they weren’t ready. It make me feel so alone.

I don’t judge myself anymore because I’m not coaching anyone but me. I don’t hear anyone else’s opinions and/or praises. Good bad or otherwise it doesn’t matter to me. The only voice I listen to is my own. The guidance of my inner most self is what matters most to me.

Lastly, the best thing I don’t do anymore is look back. Looking back only messes with your head. Make a decision and own it. You have choices every single moment each day that can either make you better or worse. Plain and simple. It doesn’t matter if you’re right or wrong. Simply choosing to do it differently is the best part. Some days it all works jn your favor and some days it doesn’t.

Breaking the internet would be nuts because it has revolutionized the way we interact and react to what life has in store for us. Learn a little more about yourself and listen only to the voice deep down. Eventually that voice will be the loudest and all the other ones will shit down. Just like the virus in the movie, it eventually gets eliminated when Ralph faces his insecurities.

That’s what holds us back. The insecurity of the unknown. It’s time you start believing that you can do anything you set your mind to. Have a great time with the WOD and please, by all means don’t do it for me. Do it for you.

Have Fun!
