Stories About Underdogs Mean MoreBeing underestimated happens all the time. People do it is every day. We do it to ourselves every moment. Unless you’re in alignment with your truth. This mindset coaching article is about the best stories about underdogs mean more than all of the instant flashes in the pan one-offs combined.

Watching movies was my favorite thing to do growing up. Well, that and playing video games. Also eating crappy foods. Lol. What I recognize about all the movies as that there is always an underdog. Stories about underdogs mean more to me because I am an underdog.

I am underestimated all the time. My capabilities are endless when I shut everyone’s opinions out of my mind and body. We all are limitless is we choose to be. So I chose two of my favorite movies to correlate this point.

The first movie is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It came out in 1990. If you don’t know the storyline it is one of the best stories about underdogs because they are 4 teenage mutant turtles who have to grow up real fast to defeat the enemy. Meanwhile still growing into the team that becomes a major franchised TV show. The TMNT brand has been around for over thirty years and now my children enjoy them too. Which I have to admit, I still enjoy.

Second Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. We can really narrow it down to every Jim Carrey movie made EVER. Ace Ventura sticks out most because it was my first exposure to Jim Carrey’s work. The storyline is hilarious because let’s be real, in 1994 were there any Pet Detectives in the non-fictional world? None the less, at the beginning of the movie no one took Ace serious because from the outside looking in he, was a tree hugger that only found the pets for money. A glorified bounty hunter. If you haven’t’ seen the movie, I won’t ruin it for you. Let’s just say he saves the day like all stories about underdogs.

Second to last is me. Let’s be real here. When I first started in my career no one took me seriously. Being judged for my age wasn’t easy. My age didn’t match my work ethic. It still doesn’t to this day. There were/are people twice my age who don’t work 1/2 as hard as I do. I can thank my parents for that. With each success, I have there are 100 more failures that came before that. Stories about underdogs mean more because the climb is the fun part. After you increase your awareness of that, life gets very interesting.

Lastly is you. Now become your own underdog story. You’re doing that each day you complete a WOD. Every time a person tags me I am blown away because you’re defying your old self. These stories about underdogs mean more to me because every time I see them I cry. It’s a constant reminder that I am underestimated and I love it so much.

It’s fun to be underestimated because then no one is ever disappointed. When you achieve way more than you ever expected, the glory is everlasting. Above all, recreating that feeling is easier and easier the more you do it and become it.

You are unstoppable. It’s time you look in the mirror and believe it for yourself.

Have Fun!
