Sell Your Life For A Dream

People who follow what their parents want for them versus doing what their heart says to do end up very alone. Sell your life for a dream and end up like them or stop listening to other people and live your life for you. This mindset coaching article will provide examples of what both scenarios look like.

The first example is a doctor that had to prove himself to “everyone” aka his parents. They wanted him to become successful and it didn’t matter what he wanted with his life. He surrenders and went to med school. In med school, he met his wife.

They had children and went on a few vacations every year. They seemed happy on the outside with their cars and a fancy house. On the inside, they were rotting. After their children flew the nest he still went to the clinic that he worked for and sat in the lobby every morning. He read the paper and hung around for a few hours a day.

Then went home to a cold and empty house. His wife was somewhere else every day and he wasn’t happy. Sell your life for a dream from your parents and this could happen to you.

Another way to sell your life for a dream is to forget about everyone and start listening to your heart. Then the dream isn’t a dream. It starts to become your external reality. Dreams are amazing and hold our curiosity to an extreme. The next example is what happened to me.

I went to college in at NDSU in Fargo North Dakota. Graduated with my bachelor’s degree in exercise science, got married and relocated all in the same year. It was amazing. Worked for an inpatient treatment center for 5 years and decided it was time for a change. Since I quit that job I’ve been searching for something deeper.

I promise once you sell your life for a dream from a place of heart and purpose it won’t be selling at all. It’s just the way it was intended to be. We lived in the twin cities for eight years and I decided I wanted to move to my wife’s home town. My parents were not happy with me. My own Mom even hung up the phone on me after telling her.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my parents. They’re the reason I have so many amazing traits. Giving my parents the credit for my core beliefs is exactly why I am who I am today. That is only fifty percent of my beliefs and being. The rest is up to me. However, that’s the problem with awareness. It’s something that may seem overwhelming once it sets in.

Sell your life for a dream or live your dream. Some may do both and some will do neither. Either way, it’s your life to choose and getting that voice in your head to become your own voice instead of that voice. That old voice may be your Mom, Dad, Uncle, Grandma or anyone else that has ever judged your decisions.

Start living for yourself when you’re ready. Sell your life for a dream in a way that speaks to your soul versus selling it for something empty. Because you are worthy of happiness and joy. It’s now time for you to believe that. By dedicating yourself each and every day and you’ll find yourself dreaming with your eyes wide open. In other words, what you think becomes reality.
