Im A Good Pretender
This mindset coaching article will blow your mind because it reveal the real truth of who I really am. Im a good pretender when it comes to your thoughts about me. What people think about our lives sometimes takes on its own life form and social media does not help that sometimes.

What I post in social media is exactly who I am. However so many people think differently. There are many things that people think of me that just aren’t true.

Here is a list of things that AREN’T true about me:


  1. Workout for hours on end
  2. Don’t eat anything unhealthy
  3. Sleep the proper amount
  4. Don’t drink alcohol
  5. Only eat certain foods
  6. Have the perfect work life balance
  7. Have a family that is totally perfect
  8. Never fight with my wife
  9. Have kids that are perfect angles all the time
  10. Never over indulge at holidays
  11. Always do the “right” thing

The list could go on forever. The truth is that I am human. The reason I create these WODs is efficiency. There are only so many minutes in a day and I want to maximize all the opportunities provided. To spend hours on end working out would be a waste of time for me. My goals in my life won’t allow for that. Eating healthy is a part of what I do. However, I don’t skip pizza, cake, cookies and/or ice cream when the opportunity presents itself either.

It’s all a matter of being truthful with yourself. That list is what people put in their own heads. I’m okay with whatever you tell yourself about me. I don’t listen to that voice. You do. I listen to my own inner voice. That’s all I hear. AJR wrote a song called Pretender. Listen to it and you’ll see.

Im a good pretender to whoever sees me on the surface. If you really know me then you know that I over indulge at holidays. That’s what they’re for! I love pretending. We all did it as children. I still do to this day. I simply don’t throw it out there on social media for people to see right though it.

So to all the pretenders our there…

The jig is up. Eventually you will be exposed and people will see you for who you really are. If you’re working on becoming that person you’re pretending to be, then props to you. Because of that work you will become that person. That’s what I do each and every day that I complete at least one round of that day’s WOD.

Pretend until you dot have to. That’s way different than the fake it until you make it model though. Pretending helps you learn along the way and be real with people. Faking it means you’re lying to people and yourself. That leads to a whole other life full of dissatisfaction and anger.

So today, pretend away. It will make the failures better and soon you will become that person you’re pretending to be. Come one and come all pretenders. No judgement from me. Let’s play.

  • Kneeling Back Extensions – Go For 45 Seconds
  • Kneeling Side Leg Heel Touches – Go For 45 Seconds
  • Kneeling Front Leg Heel Touches – Go For 45 Seconds

Cool Down – 5 Deep Breaths In Each Pose – Down Dog, Child’s Pose, Up Dog Pose, Down Dog Pose
