Do you remember seeing the leotards back in the day with the goofy looking step in front of that person? Well today’s WOD is all about fat burning cardio step and we are going back to THAT time.

You won’t see me in those leotards, but wouldn’t THAT be hilarious? LOL

Fat burn cardio exercises don’t have to be boring or on a machine where you daze out and “go through the motions”. Why not LOVE your workout AND the best part is you can take it ANYWHERE!

Today’s workout will help you get into your fat burn cardio zone. Now to get ALL sciencey would be a waste of both of our time. Nobody cares about that kind of stuff because we don’t have time right…

To simplify your fat burn cardio zone let’s talk about breathing. Simply get out of breath. Once you reach that point of being out of breath, then your heart rate usually shoots up to where your fat burn cardio peak is. In a 15 minute workout try to be at the point of “out of breath” for at least 12 out of 15 minutes.

That creates what’s called after burn. Click Here To watch a video on what after burn is and if you achieve it you will burn an extra 300-700 calories by doing NOTHING at all.

Creating a fat burn cardio routine is simple when you do each WOD for at least 6/7 days a week. If you cannot commit to that, then commit to a routine that you CAN do. Even once a week has a MASSIVE amount of value to your fat burning ablilities.

So let’s get to today’s workout shall we?

WOD #116 Fat Burning Cardio Step

AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible)

  • Going Up and Down Stairs/Steps- 30 Seconds to 1 Minute
  • Squat/Curl/Press- 20 Reps
