Since the inception of the 365 WOD Journey, I’ve been saying consistency is greater than intensity. Not really knowing that it would have a major impact on other people’s lives more than my own. In this mindset coaching article you’ll see why consistency is greater than intensity and be able to get past all of those short-term all or none programs.
Before I started creating the 365 WOD Journey I was like anyone else. That’s not entirely true because I still worked out every day but didn’t know why. It was the same routine with no spark. Nothing was changing for the good or bad, it was simply the same.
The first thing I noticed about the consistency, however, was that no matter what I ate I always stayed the same or was leaner than most people around me. The only thing I was missing was the spontaneity that my body craved. Using different muscle groups each day is important for your exercise routine, but the way you recruit them matters too.
The first time I finished my 365 WOD Journey it took me three and a half years. This journey has changed my life forever. Most people would think that’s a long time, but really it’s not. The second time through has taken me a year. That is where I came into the mindset of consistency is greater than intensity.
Consistency Is > Than Intensity
You can have your all or none. That will only lead you to disappointment. When you get done with your 30-day challenge and have your lean body that’s great. It’s the six months of shit eating and poor life choices that will bring you back to where you were before. My intuition tells me you’ll be even worse off than before.
Since completing the 365 WOD Journey it’s been awesome. Finding new ways to talk about and promote it all while doing it at the same time. Whether it takes a person one year or three years it doesn’t matter. The level of commitment, dedication, and determination you have to yourself will not be derailed by anything, any one person or you being anywhere in this world.
The best part of it all is it is free of charge. I do this because there is no excuses that a person can’t get them done. Money seems to be a factor for people. I’ve eliminated all of them.
Bad shoulders? There a modification for that.
Bad knees? There’s a modification for that.
Lower back pain? There’s a modification for that.
Neck pain? Yup, there’s a modification for that.
Consistency Is Greater Than Intensity
The secret sauce that nobodies talking about is consistency. After you begin your journey your bad shoulders, knees and back will only be a memory stored in your soul as wisdom. You might actually finish your Journey too.
The real truth about finishing your journey is that you never really finish it, but that’s another story for another day.
Pour on your secret sauce thick today with your WOD. Feel the consistency and be grateful for it. No matter what commit to one round per day for one year straight. The possibilities are waiting for you.
