Before starting this 365 WOD Journey morning was the best time to workout. In all reality, the best time to workout is now. At this very moment you’re reading this it means you’re gearing yourself up to get your WOD done. This mindset coaching article will provide insight on when the best time to workout really is.

The first 150-200 WOD videos were created in the morning because I was in charge of bringing our children to two different daycare providers. Therefore the morning was a perfect time. There are studies that show working out in the morning will help you make better choices throughout the day, but people use that as an excuse to eat poorly too.

Workout at night has some benefit because you can really exhaust yourself and then go to bed. However, people tell me they feel too amped and they can’t sleep if they workout at night. That also is an excuse not to workout. See what I’m getting at here? Everything we tell ourselves can talk us right out of working out.

There is no right time or wrong time to workout. As long as you get your WOD done, that’s the right time. The best time to workout is now. At this very moment drop everything that you’re doing, if you haven’t already, and get at least one round done. When you commit yourself to get one round of one WOD done a day you won’t let anything stop you.

Since 2014, when I created the WOD 365 Journey, it has consumed my life. I’ve been documenting the process in video form, text and emotions. I live my life through love. The best time to workout is now because that’s all you have. Even if it’s past midnight and you haven’t gotten your WOD done, crank out one round. It totally counts.

Why Do We Think 25% Effort Isn’t Enough?

We’ve been told that if you’re not giving 100% you’re not giving enough. That is one person’s point of view. What if you give 25% for one year straight? Do you think you’d become a different person? I am living proof that you will be. Consistency is the secret sauce that people don’t talk about. Because by pure inertia you’ll do more than 25%.

The best time to workout is now. Right now. Consistency is something that most people think they lack and yet they go to the same job for 10, 20 or 30 years and do the same thing. That’s consistency at it’s finest. Use that same thought process with your workout schedule. Morning, noon or night matters none. As long as you are attempting to get your WOD done, then you do it.

Believe it or not, you’re creating a ripple effect with the consistency. Other choices throughout your day will be effected tenfold. The only way you’ll know that is by doing the work. It’s like if you were to read about how to do a push-up and not doing them. You can read about it all you want, but until you attempt it, you won’t feel anything or do anything different.

Let’s sum up why the best time to workout is now. It’s all discretionary because we are all different. Your life is different to mine and mine to someone else’s. Consistency creates confidence. Do something enough times and it becomes a habit. Your body will start to crave it. Get after today’s WOD no matter what time it is.
